Calories are unit of energy. The meal which we consume through out the day are actually calories which we are consuming .They are major part of the nutrition.

- There is a specific maintenance calories for every individual,it varies from individual to individual.
- So lets say a person whose goal is fat loss,so he has to go for caloric deficit which means he has to decrease its calories intake from his maintenance calories .
- Similarly a person who is very lean or wants to build person he has to go for caloric surplus ,which means to increase the caloric intake than its maintenance calories.
